Play Situations

Play of the Week - 8/13/2007
K has the ball 4th and 7 from K’s 45.  K7 punts the ball.   R43 legally signals for a fair catch at R’s 17 long before the ball arrives. The ball hits off of R43’s shoulder and:

(b) bounces along the ground towards the goal line. R43 blocks K88 at R’s 12 to prevent him from downing the ball before it goes into the end zone. The ball goes into R’s end zone.
What is the Ruling?

While in the end zone A39 grasps and twists B16’s facemask. B16 fumbles the ball in the end zone.   The ball bounces into the field of play and out of bounds at B’s 3 yard line.  What is the basic spot in (a) and (b)?

          (b) R44 muffs the ball at K’s 47 into K23?

Play of the Week - 9/17/2007
A attempts a try from B’s 3.  A’s captain wants the ball placed at the right hash. A lines up in the swinging gate. A’s captain now requests that the ball be placed in the middle of the field for their kick try.  Do you allow this request?
What is the Ruling?
